Park Vega Waterpark, Foreign Guests, and International Standards

Well-known as the first point of call for families, individuals, and organisations that want to have a fun experience, the largest waterpark in West Africa, is also a hub for foreign nationals who do not see the reason behind spending millions to travel abroad just to give their family a treat. 

Mr James Oghene, one of the regulars at the park throws more light on why he believes the park attracts international guests who don’t want to spend millions flying to Europe to share the same experience. 

According to Oghene, “Park Vega Waterpark might be located in Nigeria but the design is focused on attracting international guests. The state-of-the-art waterpark facilities can only be found in South Africa, Europe and America. While inside the park you can send a photo to someone and they would automatically assume you left the country. From personal experience, and interaction with foreign guests I can tell you that all they want is to get the same value they get when they travel abroad. If you keep seeing them return as I have then it means your standards are still competitive on an international level.”

Located in what can be called West Africa’s tourism hub, Delta State, the park has added more economic and social vibrancy to the mainly agrarian town of Agbor. 

Most foreign nationals shy away from speaking with the media but Chanani, an Indian, is not one of them. He is a regular at the park who comes with his family to bond and have fun.

“I always have a great experience whenever we visit Park Vega Waterpark and would like to keep coming again and again. My family loves the park and we do not need to travel long distances to bond as a family. Personally, my favourite attraction is the wave pool but I notice my children seem to prefer the Aqua tower and after joining them I understand why they love it.” He concluded. 

Park Vega Waterpark is a privately owned waterpark and the only international standard waterpark endorsed by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) and the World Waterparks Association (WWA).
